Created in 1968 in 18ct yellow gold, this Modernist Italian sculptural brooch is enamelled in graduated aqua-cobalt blue translucent enamel over heavy radiating lines of engraved gold. The inner edge is left showing bright gold as is the outer shotted border forming a shaped ribbon, wound concentrically 2 1/2 times. Also raised on pins between the layers to raise the profile. The centre fitted with an offset pin of three claw set diamonds set in white gold, the nut marked 'GARATINO 750'.
