Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Diamond & Ruby Ring, 1886.

$6,200.00

Sixteen twinkling old mine-cut diamonds, the forerunner to the modern brilliant cut, are arranged across the top of the ring in a delicate zig-zag pattern, with an estimated total weight of 0.80ct. Their soft, characteristic sparkle is distinctly Victorian, and the design is wonderfully flat to the hand, sitting low and comfortable when worn.

Set between them are seven cushion-shaped rubies, claw set into the underbezel, adding a subtle yet rich contrast of colour with the warm antique gold. The rubies have an estimated total weight of 0.50ct, enhancing the design.

Jam packed with wall-to-wall sparkle, this is a well-preserved piece of jewellery history that remains both striking and highly wearable today.
